CIE British School recently undertook its first follow-up audit by independent quality system certification body TUV Rheinland Philippines, Inc. and retained its ISO certification.
TUV Rheinland auditors Rolando C. Remitar and Mark Lugay conducted the surveillance audit on August 22 to 23, 2013 at the integrated CIE Cebu campus. It was one year after CIE hurdled the Stage 1 audit and 11 months after the Stage 2 audit which qualified the CIE quality system to be ISO-certified.
Prof. Nelia Cruz Sarcol, CIE President and CEO received the certificates for the CIE Main Campus, CIE Cebu Campus – Child Development Centre of CIE (CDCC), and CIE Makati Campus during ceremonies on December 18, 2012.
The auditors commended the commitment of top management for continual improvement. They called the transfer of the Basic Education campus to the Main Campus for close monitoring and communication, the construction of the Science laboratory building and the CIE Eco Park “a testament of the organization’s commitment to provide customers with excellent service/facilities.”
The auditors also noted the big leap in the maturity of the conduct of the institution’s internal audit system which was evident in a good number of audit findings.
They also noted the use of the ASCA Model, International Standards for School Course, for Guidance, and the consistent use of licensed software in its Information Systems.
CIE is the first international school in Cebu, and among a few progressive educational institutions in the Philippines, to be ISO-certified.
